During my two years as Social Media Chair for the Association of Honors Students (AHS), I utilized graphic design tools, including Adobe Creative Suite and Google Workspace, to create high-quality designs and maintain a consistent and authentic brand voice across all written communications, from Instagram to Slack to email. I managed our Instagram page, posting on our stories and feed consistently and gaining over 150 followers, while also designing digital flyers and writing compelling copy. Working efficiently in a fast-paced environment, I ensured that all copy, designs, and communications were released two weeks before events, keeping our audience informed and engaged. I was the liaison between our members and the executive board.
The Honors Instagram before my rebrand vs. after. I implemented cohesive colors, typefaces, and formats so our posts are instantly recognizable while still aligning with the college's brand guidelines.
Examples of social media content I designed, scheduled, organized, wrote, and posted. I was in charge of the visual look of our page as well as our copywriting and brand voice.
On Instagram Stories, I posted polls to engage our audience and collect data on ways to improve our events and communication efforts. I also attended events, posting live photo and video encouraging people to attend, as well as documenting the day for post-event and archival content. Additionally, I reposted event flyers to remind our audience of upcoming opportunities to get involved. I communicated with other organizations as well, reposting their events and creating partnerships. I also responded to DMs and organized communication initiatives like "Student Spotlights".
